Barnesville, PA – Ken Huebner, Vice President of Mountain Valley Golf Course, presented a check for $2,000 to Jennifer Slifka, the Schuylkill Community Action (SCA) Director of Program Services. This donation is a result of a 25% donation of the proceeds from Seasons Restaurant at Mountain Valley’s Wednesday Take-out Meals that were purchased through the month of April. SCA will use these funds to stock the Schuylkill Food Network of 20 food pantries throughout Schuylkill County.
“We would like to thank all of our customers for supporting our local business and our take-out meals, which in turn has allowed us to pay it forward and support the network of food pantries in our communities”, stated, Ken Huebner, Mountain Valley Vice-President.
Ted Dreisbach, Schuylkill Community Action’s Executive Director, said, “This generous donation from Mountain Valley will be a tremendous help in SCA’s effort to serve the increasing number of people who are currently in need of food assistance in our communities.”
